1,000 students using a platform designed to develop skills, passions, and purpose — from year 9 through to their first year beyond graduation.
The Situation
Genesis Christian College wanted more than a school website. They were looking for a platform that could genuinely support student development — not just track academic results, but help students understand what they were good at, what they were passionate about, and how to build on both.
The challenge was building something that worked across the full student journey: accessible enough for younger students learning to manage their own development, and meaningful enough to stay relevant beyond year 12 — as a connection point between the college and young alumni in their first year out of school.

What We Built
Skills Portfolio platform
We built a custom platform where students log, reflect on, and build a portfolio of skills across academic, extracurricular, community, and personal development activities. Staff can guide students, track engagement, and identify where additional support is needed.
The design prioritised simplicity — if the platform felt like extra work, students wouldn’t use it. Iterative testing with staff and students shaped a product that integrated naturally into how the college already operated.

Alumni connection beyond year 12
The platform extends beyond graduation — giving the college an unprecedented opportunity to stay meaningfully connected with young alumni in their first year post-school.
Rather than students disappearing after year 12, the Skills Portfolio becomes a bridge: a record of who they are, what they’ve developed, and how the college can continue to support their transition into work, study, or the wider world.
